Minnesota Real Estate Pre-Licensing Course

Submit your application and pay the $110 license fee ($100 + $10 technology surcharge). You'll answer questions about your criminal history; any disclosures are reviewed case-by-case.

Schedule and pass both portions of the Minnesota real estate salesperson exam: 80 national questions (2.5 hrs) and 40 state-specific questions (1.5 hrs). You need a 75% or higher on each section. The exam fee is $63.

To get your real estate license in Minnesota, you must complete the following steps:

1. Complete 90 hours of pre-licensing education across Course I, Course II, and Course III. You'll need to pass your school's final course exam (155 questions, 70% passing score).
2. Submit your application to the Minnesota Department of Commerce and pay the $110 license fee.
3. Schedule your exam with Pearson VUE and pay the $63 exam fee. Pass both the national (80 questions) and state (40 questions) portions of the Minnesota real estate exam with a score of 75% or higher on each.
4. Associate with a licensed broker to activate your license and start your career.
