What to Expect on the Georgia Real Estate Exam

The Georgia real estate exam is made up of two portions: a national exam and a state exam. All of the Georgia real estate exam questions have been approved by the Georgia Real Estate Commission & Appraisers Board, but the test is administered by PSI Services. Their Candidate Handbook is a great resource that you’ll want to use along with our exam prep.

There are a total of 152 national and state questions on the Georgia real estate licensing exam. Unlike some other states, Georgia doesn’t separate the questions out into two different exams. The national and state questions are intermixed throughout a single test.

Question Format

The Georgia real estate exam questions are all multiple-choice, but there are three types of multiple-choice questions on the test:

Analysis Questions - Tests how well you can analyze information to come up with solutions.

Application Questions - Tests whether you can understand and apply knowledge in different scenarios.

Recall Questions - Tests your ability to recall specific facts and information.

Test Timeframe

You’ll have 4 hours total to complete the whole exam with both national and state questions. If you’re taking just the state portion you’ll have 2 hours to finish the test.

Passing Score - 72% or higher

Even though the questions are intermixed, the pre-licensing exam is broken out into a national portion and state portion for the purposes of calculating test scores. Because the exam consists of different types of questions the score is weighed a little differently with what’s called the Angoff method.

You’ll receive a report right after finishing the exam that will tell you if you passed or not. If you did you’ll also get a Certification of Accuracy Statement. If not, you’ll receive a detailed summary of the test portion you didn’t pass for future reference.
