The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) reports the number of registered Realtors in Florida increased by 1.11% from 2023 to 2024. Given that there were 216,493 registered members in Florida in 2023, this means there are approximately 218,896 Realtors in Florida as of June 2024.
However, this number doesn’t exactly tell the whole story. Realtors and real estate agents aren’t the same thing. A Realtor is a real estate agent who has registered with the NAR. While many agents choose to do this, some don't. So, it’s likely that the actual number of actively licensed Florida real estate agents is higher.
Overall NAR membership fell nationwide 2% year-over-year, with the organization experiencing a decline of about 45,000 members. Still, total membership remains at historic highs with over 1.5 million Realtors in the U.S.
The NAR had anticipated a decline of as much as 10% for the year due to high interest rates and slowing home sales. So, the single-digit membership decline points to a strong and resilient real estate agent base willing to ride out the current market cycle.
The NAR also reports Florida is one of only six states that has seen an upward trend in membership growth of 1% to 3% for the year. This recent growth further cements Florida’s status as the state with the most Realtors.
