Want a little inspiration for taking your real estate career to the next level this coming year? If you live in Dallas, Houston, Austin or San Antonio you’re already among some of the best agents in the state and in a good position to be a top producer yourself.
Which real estate agents are poised to have a big year in 2019 and what can you learn from them? Let’s take a look!
Ben Caballero
Want to sell $1 billion in homes each year? Then keep an eye on Ben Caballero. He’s a Dallas-based real estate agent who does business with developers all over Texas. His secret to selling 3,500+ homes in a year is a powerful online platform that markets new builds.
For six years running Ben has been deemed the top agent in the country. According to data crunchers like REAL Trends, he’s basically untouchable. In 2016, the next busiest agent sold 467 homes - very admirable, but nowhere near Ben’s numbers. Since Ben has plans to expand his new home platform to other states we expect he’ll do even more business in 2019.
Damon Williamson
UpNest research revealed that in 2017 alone Damon Williamson had $90,000,000 in sales. That makes this Dallas agent one of the top producers in the state. He’s part of Keller Williams Park Cities brokerage and was named the top KW agent in the DFW area along with being one of the top 20 agents in the country for Keller Williams. Not surprisingly, Damon is a team leader who’s helping direct the successful careers of other agents.
Monica Foster
Monica Foster is a broker/associate with an impressive track record in the greater Houston Bay area. She’s been able to close $70+ million in sales within a single year (2017) while running the RE/MAX Space Center brokerage. Her work ethic and ability to make a home sale has earned Monica a place in the RE/MAX Hall of Fame. She’s also a Houston Association of REALTORS Certified Top Production REALTOR.
Smokey Garrett and David Osborn
Technically, these two are the co-brokers of Keller Williams Realty, GO Management Offices. But it’s worth noting that they were #4 on the 2018 REAL Trends Five Hundred list - by far the best in Texas. The list ranks the 500 largest brokers in the country by closed volume and closed number of sales.
The guys behind GO Management Offices have been top movers for five years running. With an astounding $9,326,489,252 in sales in 2017 and an even higher number estimated in 2018, this team (and their agents) is definitely one to watch in 2019.
Diego Blanco
Diego Blanco is killing it as a real estate agent. Not only was he in one of the top 10 teams in Houston from 2015-2017, but he was also named the top Houston real estate agent on social media by PropertySpark. Diego is a social savvy Realtor that’s been able to gain over 10,000 followers. Diego now has his own group (The Diego Blanco Group) you can follow on social media.
Nicole Lopez
Nicole Lopez gained national attention in 2018 for offering $250 in tacos as an incentive for buying one of her listings in Cypress, TX. The incentive worked better than she ever expected. Not only did Nicole sell the home, but she also became the “ original taco Realtor ” in the process when her sign went viral on Facebook.
Nicole has been able to ride that social media wave and grow her real estate business. In addition to coming up with genius marketing ideas, Nicole is the real estate correspondent on CW39 and the leader of the PR Group at Intero Real Estate Services.
Jonathan and Yvonne Boatwright
It suffices to say that Jonathan Boatwright is a successful individual no matter what he puts his mind to. He spent 16 years in IT at top tech companies like Apple before opening Realty Austin. He’s the co-founder along with his wife Yvonne, a licensed Realtor and the Chief Technology Officer, naturally. Before opening Realty Austin Yvonne was a multi-million dollar producing Realtor.
Realty Austin has been named one of the top brokerages in the country with $2,636,357,535 sales volume in 2017 and figures that should be even better for 2018. A lot of other agents helped Jonathan and Yvonne reach that impressive sales volume, but Jonathan and Yvonne still handle a lot of transactions themselves. They’re also agents to watch in terms of how to make use of the latest and greatest PropTech .
Laura Sweeney
Laura Sweeney is a big reason why the brokerage John Daugherty Real Estate, Inc. of Houston was able to generate $1,108,200,204 in sales volume during 2017 and make it onto REAL Trends Top 500 list. She became an agent to watch in 2018 after she brought in $120,351,055.00 in sales and was ranked in the top 100 individual agents by REAL Trends. She’s also been recently named one of the top 60 agents in the country by the Wall Street Journal.
Needless to say, Laura is one of the best residential real estate professionals in Houston. She’s also gained national notoriety for her marketing and negotiation skills.
Ashley Nicholson
The only Texas real estate agent that has bested Ashley Nicholson’s 236 annual transactions is Ben Caballero. She’s a major producer for Keller Williams Realty in San Antonio without having the advantage of a proprietary marketing platform. In terms of total transactions, Ashley took the 34th spot in the entire nation, which is very respectable.
Heidi Dugan
If you live in the Houston area you’ve probably heard of Greenwood King Properties. The brokerage is one of the biggest producers in the U.S. with $1,399,879,931 in sales volume during 2017 alone. The owner Julie E. Greenwood can thank Heidi Dugan for a lot of that. On her own, Heidi was responsible for $82,320,641.00 in transactions.
This luxury real estate specialist has been on the Houston Business Journal’s Top 25 Realtors list for 15 years straight! Heidi got her start as a paralegal and is now known for being one of the best agents in the state in terms of contracts and negotiating.
All real estate agents can learn a lot from these 10 Texas Realtors. Whether it’s how to gain a following on social media or getting into the niche luxury market, keep an eye on the top performers to make 2019 a year for the record books.
